Account, sign-in, restoration, and backups
Use the same identity on every device, and keep a backup outside the app if you want a portable copy of personal progress.
Sign in on a new device
Sign in using the exact same Motivate Mountain account on the new iPhone or iPad. If you use Sign in with Apple, use the same Apple identity — including Hide My Email if that is how the account was created.
Founder access
Founder promotional access restores from the Motivate Mountain account. It is not an App Store purchase and is not restored through Apple purchases or Restore Mountain Pro. Sign into the same account, then wait a moment for the account status to load.
Paid Mountain Pro
Paid Mountain Pro restores through Apple and RevenueCat. Confirm the device is signed into the Apple Account that originally purchased the subscription, sign into the correct Motivate Mountain account, then use Restore Mountain Pro in Settings. Details are on the subscription support page.
Export and import a backup
- Export Backup saves a JSON backup through the iOS share sheet.
- Import Backup restores supported portable personal progress.
- Save exported backups somewhere outside the app, such as iCloud Drive or the Files app.
- Device identity and consumable Streak Shield inventory are not transferred in portable backups.
If automatic restore fails
- On the old phone, export a backup and save it to iCloud Drive or Files.
- On the new phone, install Motivate Mountain and sign in with the same account.
- Import the backup from Settings.
- If you subscribe, restore Mountain Pro with the original Apple Account.
Not every piece of data is cloud-backed by default. A local export is the most reliable way to carry supported personal progress with you.
